A unique experience that is well worth the investment. Cavallo Point sits under the north side of the Golden Gate bridge and lives in an old military base (there's even a functioning Coast Guard base adjacent to the property). The rooms are in new buildings, as well as the old traditional officers quarters. The combination provides an experience that is unique, romantic and pricey. You to get great food, beautiful rooms, quality service, a wonderful overall experience. Don't miss the sunset and fog rolling in through the Golden Gate!

Given its location, you'll want to get out of your room. The property is expansive and provides hiking and biking on property. I'd highly suggest grabbing one of the loaner electric bikes and heading up the hill to the Golden Gate bridge. It's a relatively easy ride and you can make it over the bridge in back very quickly.
Additionally hiking (or running if you're up for it) up the hill and into the Marin Headlands is a great way to get out. Breath taking views, great exercise and trails for as far as you'd like to go. It's worth the hour to hours you'll spend exploring.
The hotel has a beautiful spa and onsite gym for those more inclined to stay on property. Bottom line is you have a wide variety of options, a unique place to experience them, and a staff that will do what they can to help.

This is a must try spot if you are in the neighborhood. Owned and operated by a couple of traditional Frenchmen, it has the feel and attitude of the snootiest French bistros. I mean that in the best way... especically becuase the food can back up that French attitude.
It's located in, yes, and old garage. They do a beautiful job of delivering a wonderful lunch or dinner with a seafood heavy menu. Don't expect a high degree of fanciness, just quality food, great wine, and a lot of attitude. Enjoy!
